The other day I was in an outlet mall with Erma, and came upon a store that I had never seen before. The name of the store was True Religion.” Out of curiosity, I stepped into the store and discovered that True Religion was a popular name-brand for a line of jeans and denim wear.
Of course, the thought immediately came to my mind that real true religion isn’t at all about a particular clothing brand, blue jeans, or even denim for that matter. True Religion is about reaching out to the helpless and voiceless children, of whom Jesus was referring, when He said, “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
Tupelo Children’s Mansion is pure religion in action. It’s the fulfillment of James 1:27, becoming the hands of God to the most vulnerable of our society, the fatherless!
“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction…”
